My camera is a bit dated, but it does have this neat feature that I can highlight a color I choose. In this case I took a picture of some pretty purple pansies at Arlington National Cemetery.

From the heavens above, this particular picture shows how neat exposure can be. This was taken in the evening from our balcony at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

With the weather we’ve been having, I thought it would be nice to look back at a warmer time.  Although I HATE hot weather, I thinking a  little warmer day would be nice.

Now this picture was taken in the afternoon last fall.  I have a Butterfly bush (Buddleia davidii) in my yard.  The pretty purple flowers attract butterflies and humming birds.  In this particular shot, I think I used the macro feature on my camera.  I like how big and bright the butterfly is while the background is a bit blurred.

This is one of my favorite pictures of the Washington Monument.  Living around Washington, D.C. gives photographers of all skill levels the opportunity to take some really great pictures.  This picture was taken in the fall.  I particularly like the tree in the foreground.  The colors of the season are captivating.  This tree is transitioning between the green of summer and and crisp red of fall.  This transition is one of the visuals that I wait for all year.  I don’t know how to describe it, but the trees during this time seem light and airy to me.

These are panoramic shots stitched together using Windows Live Photo Gallery.  I’ve used this tool before when I stitched together the Barcelona skyline. I was very surprised at how well it works.  It is much easier than trying to use the panoramic setting on the camera, and if you don’t have a camera with that option, this sort of thing would be really difficult at best.

As you can see it is very bright out today.  The light reflecting off the snow makes it very crisp looking.  I really enjoy the contrast between the white snow and the deep blue sky.

This picture was taken with my iPhone 3GS.  I wasn’t using any application to enhance the picture taking.  This photo is interesting to me due to the exposer and the contract between the light and the dark in the foreground and background.
